Struggling with a health issue can be confusing and scary. It affects our lives, our relationships, our livelihoods, our very survival. We understand because we’ve been there and you are not alone.
When we’re afraid, our nervous system and brain actually change. We go into survival mode; fight, flight, or freeze. No matter how much we want to move forward in a mindful way, these strategies are all we have available to us, and every solution we come up with often does more to feed the fear rather than soothe it.
If you throw yourself into a plan of attack… you’re in fight mode. If you avoid, numb out, or deny what’s happening… you’re in flight mode. If you feel paralyzed and unable to move… you’re frozen in fear. Each of these states are your nervous system trying to protect you from harm and this makes it nearly impossible to connect deeply to who you are and what you need.
Health Coaching is a safe, supportive relationship that allows you the space to exhale, come back to yourself, and listen to the still small voice inside you that knows exactly what steps you need to take to move forward.
